National Informatics Centre (NIC), a Department under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology is providing network backbone and e-Governance support to Central Government, State Governments, UT Administrations, Districts and other Government bodies. It offers a wide range of ICT services including Nationwide Communication Network for decentralised planning, improvement in Government services and wider transparency of national and local Governments. NIC assists in implementing Information Technology Projects, in close collaboration with Central and State Governments, in the areas of (a) Centrally sponsored schemes and Central sector schemes, (b) State sector and State sponsored projects, and (c) District Administration sponsored projects. NIC endeavors to ensure that the latest technology in all areas of IT is available to its users


The Department is equipped with the state of the art infrastructure for implementing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the district. NIC is providing internet service to all the branches including DC’s Conference hall. Presently NIC has manpower strength of one DIO, 2 nos of FMS outsourced Engineers from Wipro and one Grade IV staff provided by District Administration for helping in official activities

The foremost task of NIC in the District is to generate computer awareness among the officers, to promote the informatics culture and to create databases of important nature for District Administration & State Government. It operates as an Informatics Service oriented organization providing hardware and processing supports to various Departments in the district. NIC helps branches and departments in implementing projects and problems related to hardware and software.

1. VAHAN/SARATHI VAHAN and SARATHI software’s has been developed by NIC for the Transport Department for issuing of Vehicle Registration, Transfer of ownership, Learner License, Driving License etc.
2. Service Plus It is an online portal for issuing ST certificate, PRC, Government Identity Certificate, Inner Line Permit, Character Certificate, Income Certificate etc.
3. Payroll It is an application software developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC), Arunachal Pradesh State Centre for complete computerization of Salary Disbursement process. The software is specially designed on the basis of requirements given by the State Government Departments. It has provisions for generating Challans, Bill Extract, Schedules, Salary Statements etc. It not only reduces the time but also increases the efficiency of the staffs working in the accounts section.
4. NDAL-ALIS Arm License Issuing System (ALIS) is an online portal for issue of new arm license, renewal of license, addition and deletion of weapons etc.
5. Video Conferencing NIC Yupia well equipped with a modern Video Conferencing system and is providing VC services to District Administration as well as Head of Departments of the district.
6. NICNET NIC Yupia have a 34 mbps Leased Line connectivity from BSNL and is proving internet connectivity to the District Administration and as well as other departments of the district.
